CHARLOTTE (August 20, 2025) – The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli is saddened to learn of the tragic passing of CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series Pro/Am Challenge Champion Barry Boes. Boes, driver of the No. 27 Accio Data/SLR-M1 Chevrolet Camaro for TeamSLR, was a passionate and hardworking longtime competitor. Series officials offer their condolences to his family, friends, competitors and the entire TeamSLR organization.
Racing in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series since 2019, Boes has made 85 starts between the National Championship and Western Championship, tallying nine National Pro/Am Challenge wins and two victories in the Western Championship. Boes won the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series Pro/Am Challenge Championship in 2024 on the strength of seven victories in 12 races, finishing in the top five in every event. A graduate from Mississippi State University with a degree in computer engineering, Boes founded technology company Accio Data in 2005 and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.
“We are heartbroken over the loss of Barry Boes,” said Trans Am President Andy Lally. “I admired his intensity and determination to make himself a better driver at every level of the game, and he was accomplishing exactly that. He has been an incredible presence in our paddock, and his discipline and work ethic were unmatched.
